“Accessories”, they come in all shapes and sizes. Every material there is can be transformed into an accessory: plastic, metal, gold, silver, bones. For me, it is the most versatile thing a woman can have in her wardrobe. Take a set of pearls and they can match any outfit you have with you, take a handful of diamonds and they can add a certain charm to your plain black dress. Take a colorful handbag or earrings and they can add that pop of color to your clothes.
If you take a look at my closet, you’ll notice that accessories pretty much takes a relevant space inside. I have boxes and boxes of faux and real accessories to match every outfit I have, in every color and every style. I believe that it can make or break your outfit and most importantly, it can take your confidence level up a notch.
Before arriving in Japan, I had the most basic set of accessories every woman has in her wardrobe, a set of pearls, a set of gold, a set of silver and a set of diamonds. But when I arrived in Japan, I realized how easy it is to customize your look with your personal sense of style and still look as fashionable as ever. One thing about me is that I love cats, I’m a proud cat mom and since I can’t own one here I’ve set myself into a mission of showing my love for my little furry balls back home through my fashion. If you’re like me, then I’ve found the best place to buy cat-inspired accessories every cat-lover can only dream of and it’s located in no other than Kichijoji’s Cat City: Toko Toko Housekiten.

Toko Toko Housekiten is one of the shops you will find inside Kichijoji’s Cat Village: Petit Mura. Inside the place are cat fountains, Ghibli-inspired cat castles, tree houses and cat cafes. When you enter this accessory shop you will feel like getting lost inside a forest of cat accessories. There’s a huge tree in the middle of the shop and a rustic feel to all the items there. Enjoy browsing through their accessories as you listen to relaxing jazz music and try-on different items before buying them.

There are different kinds of accessories present within the store.There are your basic ones like rings, necklaces and bracelets; then there are unique ones too like accessories made from dried flowers, crystals and cat inspired home decors. Look keenly and you will find various items for different tastes and styles. Somewhere inside the different accessories you may just find the perfect item you’re looking for, one that reflects your love for cats and more!
One of the items I didn’t notice until I looked closely were their hair accessories. They are located on the upper right side of the store and houses different hair clips, barrettes, scrunchies and side combs. Their style also differs from elegant to casual ones. There is a mirror near this section which you can use to look at how their hair accessories fits your hair. Give it a try!
Their rings are one of my most favorite items inside the shop, they’re style ranges from simply elegant to chic ones. There are also rings available in different colors, instead of your traditional gold and silver ones which were very fun to look at.
Necklaces, these are what made me take some cash off my wallet. Why? They’re simply adorable, worth it and stylish and the best part? They’re hypoallergenic. I’ve got sensitive skin that quickly develops rashes when I use fake accessories but thankfully their designs fit even sensitive skins.
Another things which were really affordable inside the store were their earrings. They represent different kind of cats and cat activities. There are cats running, climbing up your arm and ones dangling from red balloons. These designs were very cute and entertaining to look at.
If you want to do away with accessories, they also have house decors for those who are secret cat-lovers. They’ve got cats sitting down, cat sleeping on beautiful cat-beds and cats wearing pearls. They’re quite heavy and made of high quality materials so I’d recommend placing them in high places at home where kids can’t reach them. You wouldn’t want to ruin these beautiful pieces or have them broken as well as injuring your young ones at home.
Probably one of the most useful thing you can buy inside this store is their compact mirror and watch duo. They’re styled like keychains but function as a clock and mirror inside. They’re very easy to use and quite stylish when attached to your favorite handbag.
This shop has one section devoted only to pearls. There you will find all sorts of accessories you can possibly need, but still catishly-stylized. Here is where you’ll also find their healing crystals like clear quartz and amethyst.
This is the first thing you’ll notice when you enter the shop. They dedicated one huge table for this display alone which is probably why they’re also one of the best-selling items for customs there. They’ve got bangles, bracelets, necklaces and earrings with floral designs which are very attractive to younger customers.
